Purchased a bracelet today, paid on visa, transaction was confirmed but the printer didn't work.
The manager then said it didn't go through even after the sales person verified it as well as myself showing the statement.
They told me to come back in a few days and it may show on their system. Missed anniversary dinner, dealing with this now for awhile.
Never go back, they are unorganized, unhelpful, will ruin your experience.

I have only had good service from Peoples. I bought a ring set 4yrs back. It was expensive for sure. But I get free maintenance and dipping of all 3 rings with no issues. I keep all my receipts and bring them in each time I send them away. I always get my rings returned shiny and beautiful. I have no complaints.
People's advertised that they have affordable repair's. I brought a ring in that had a life time warranty which was voided because I didn't bring it in every 6 months I understood. So I asked to have it repaired anyways. After 2 weeks the estimate came back at $3100.00 + txs. I purchased the ring 20 years ago for $350.00 so I declined. I just brought it elsewhere will get it back in 4 days for $40.00.
Forced refund and refused service to help complete a new order so I could get the Boxing Day discount took my money holding it for 3-5 days so I'll have to use alternative money to order a second time to get what I want if I still want to this company is trash and their service is terrible don't not buy with peoples

None they cancelled my order stupid $#*!s
I purchased a necklace for my wife as a Christmas gift, after receiving an email telling me 'order today and have it before Christmas'. That was Dec 19th. The delivery date was showing Dec 24th, so I paid the extra $$ for 'express shipping' that would get it here Dec 23rd. The order sat for two days without any action, then I receive an email today, telling me it will be delivered December 27th. Called customer service and spent a half hour on the phone, only to be told 'it's not our fault, and you should contact UPS'. So not their fault they shipped the item out the day they told me it would be delivered here? They refuse to cancel and refund this due to their policy of needing to do so within 60 mins of the order. So basiclly I need to follow their rules, and they can make up their own rules and change my order details on the fly. Asked to talk to the supervisor who said it's 'not their fault'. Told I will get a call back in 2-3 days.
Giving them a 1 star, only because I can't go lower, and based on a complete lack of customer service and false advertising. Do yourself a favor and avoid Peoples
Tip for consumers:
False advertising for shipping before Christmas, then tell you the truth after they have your money. Spent 30 mins on with 'customer service', then told I need to wait 2-3 days for a real customer service rep to call back

My husband bought me a family ring several years ago. One of the stones fell out and so the ring was catching on everything. I brought it in to get it repaired. It would cost me over $600! Apparently, the claws & stones are not covered under this warranty…like, really! I have told my husband to never purchase anything from Peoples Jewelers again. The warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on. So I took my ring to a local gold smith in town, they will replace the emerald & fix the ring for $40. Granted it's not a real emerald, but I highly doubt that the original was a real emerald either. Especially since the ring was only $235 to start with. Shame on you people's, I will be sure to tell everyone I k ow not to deal with you
I am disappointed and will not be buying jewelry from this point forward from People's. Poor customer service with children's earrings. They charge 50$ for a replacement backing and do not fix broken jewelry unless you have purchased a warranty. The receipt and date of purchase should be considered especially when the items are purchased for young children.
Title sums it up. Bought a ring on April 9 and it had to be sized. Clerk said 3 to 4 weeks which seemed a long time. Then the repair order said pick up date would be May 28. The clerk said to disregard the May date as it would be done much sooner. Four weeks later I went to check on the progress. They had not even sent it out for the repair yet! Here we are on May 26 and it is finally ready. Had the clerk had not promised it sooner, and/or the ring had been sent for repair in a timely fashion, this would not have been an issue.
Went to People's Bramalea City Centre and wanted to buy a watch. Found it. At checkout I was asked for my phone number. I replied I do not give it out. The clerk replied - then I cannot sell you the watch! I said good bye then and left very upset! I called customer service and all the girl said was - we collect information on those who purchase!
I am totally never ever going to Peoples again!
What a stupid policy! Are we in a country where we need to provide ID to purchase things!
No!
Today was the first time I used their website for purchases. I found their site easy to navigate and they had a large amount of stock to pick from. It was great that I could enter what I was looking for in the search bar and it narrowed it down to exactly the type of jewelry I was looking for. They had fantastic photos and details and I was able to find just want I wanted very quickly. It was even on sale. Even check out was easy. No hidden cost. Everything was easy peasy! I will definitely go back to their site for more orders.

Not sure what you mean by what products I ended up using. However I ended up purchasing earrings?
Got a diamond engagement ring with some type of warranty for diamond.
Two diamonds fall out. I take it in and they tell because I did nor bring it for its yearly check not covered. So I pay to get diamonds replaced Ring sitting in my jewelry box for a year and two more diamonds are out.
Last service I had claws were inspected?
Really Have not worn for a year.
Garbage jewelry overpriced. Terrible customer service at South Center mall Calgary
People's Jewellers Georgian mall, Barrie. Terrible service, left waiting, people being served who just got there when others were waiting. Staff wasn't interested in me when she found out my price range. She didn't stop to think about whether I would be a return customer later. I won't be. Went to Charmed diamond and the service was 100% better. Will definitely return to Charm. Peoples made me feel like they didn't want to wait on me. Not a problem they won't have to.

I brought in my wedding rings to replace lost small diamond.I was quoted 1000$ by phone.I waited a long while to hear from them so i went in to store to see what was up with my rings and they were there already.I did not receive call that rings were ready. I was then told it would be 1800 plus dollars and tax. This is not right! I had no choice to pay or else leave my wedding rings there (this year marks my 30th anniversary). Will not be going back!
Never written a customer complaint in 35 years of being an adult - well done Peoples Jewelers for inspiring me to do so! Bought a bracelet on-line for my daughters 21st birthday - pretty important (for us at least). Got a notification a day later that the item wouldn't ship until a month later - after my daughters birthday. Contacted their customer 'disservice' and was told that I could only cancel within the first hour of placing the order. They apologized many times but the best they could do was put a request in to cancel the order and couldn't let me know when or if it would be successful. This is the sort of satire I used to laugh at as content from classic British sitcoms - however this is a corporation doing business in the 21st century. Thank you Peoples Jewelers, your stupefyingly low levels of customer awareness and support are truly monumental.

My "sterling silver" ring changed colour but People's would not even allow an exchange. AVOID THIS COMPANY at all costs. It's a shame that the company is named "peoples" when that's the last thing on their priority list. Four of my friends all planned to get engaged, and asked me how I liked my ring. I told them to never choose Peoples (this means the company will also be losing out on some amazing business).
Tip for consumers:
Their product is fake. It changed colour (this ring was also not cheap). Please avoid ever purchasing from here! There are plenty of companies that offer way better service and quality.

I put in a man's necklace for repair, a very heavy weight gold that was purchased 41 years ago. The repair was shoddy workmanship, I was not happy and returned to be fixed. Now People's Jewellers trying to give me a light weight necklace that is same style but weight of Gold is less. This is fraudulent and they say because I do not have original paperwork showing weight that they can do nothing. How can a jewellery store get away with this. We have purchased many items over the past 41 years from People's but we will not again. I asked customer service to have their management look into but they are doing nothing to investigate. Beware and insist your Gold is weighed before you hand it over to this company.
Tip for consumers:
Get your jewellery weighed before submitting fir repair.
I bought a gold chain for my boyfriend in February of 2020 for our anniversary, thinking peoples jewellers was a reliable place to spend my money, I was dead wrong. Chain broke not even a month after having it and we sent it it in for repairs. 9 months went by with no chain! I gave them slack with the first couple months because everything was closed and behind on orders because of the pandemic. If we had not harped on these people about getting the necklace back I don't think we ever would have, they apparently had no record of the chain being brought back in because the whole store staff was changed in the middle of this. So after 9 months of constant phone calls and emails we got his chain back and it broke FIRST DAY of picking up. I made sure to get lifetime warranty on the necklace and thank goodness I did. At this point I want my money back to go to a new store and buy something that won't break, all they will give me is a new chain or store credit... TAKE YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Made a purchase online, they didn't send a confirmation email after but they charged my visa immediately and it was not a "pending charge" it posted immediate, trying to follow up with them is a nightmare they have know acknowledgment of the order being placed but somehow charged my visa. The process for reversing this with them is ridiculous, I feel sorry for anyone who has to go down this road to get your money back from them specially at Christmas.
My son went in today to buy an engagement ring the service was a joke very poor, they were on there phone not interested in him at all, an older couple walk in they all rushed to try to help them, joke on you Michael Hills was exceptionally grateful for the 5000 sales and treated my son so well shame on you, we will never recommend your company
I sent out my wedding ring to be sized, they took pictures and inspected it for any damage before sending out and I have those pictures in my email inbox directly from them. I wait over a month before hearing that the ring needs $450 of repairs. I only paid about $200 for the ring back in 2013 and paid $95 for the lifetime warranty. They tell me this damage is not covered and send it back. They refuse to do anything, if I take a replacement ring I'd have to pay the warranty fee again based on the new price of the ring which puts the warranty up to $155. On top of that the store manager tells me these now $500 rings are inferior products and will only last a couple years so I'll likely need to replace it again and buy another warranty every few years. So much for LIFETIME protection plans. They also claim the manager is not trained to look for damage even tho she was able to work the microscope they have at the store and show me this damage so she's clearly capable. Why inspect it and take pictures if they're not gonna look for damage? Why offer a lifetime protection plan that literally says "all necessary repairs from normal use are covered" but then turn around and say even tho they believe the damage was caused from normal use they won't cover it? I have no options because I can't wear this ring if it won't fit me and the $95 lifetime warranty is now void. My ring has no value now and if I pay $155 again for the protection plan I'm paying more than the ring was worth just in plans that I already know won't cover the ring the next time it needs fixing.

I purchased a wedding set in 2020 November because of life the ring wasn't given to my girl until July 2022 I had the brand new ring sized today the stone fell out they won't warranty it because the ring wasn't inspected every 6 months. Rude employees.
Hello all,
Just thought everyone needs to know this. Once you get your ring sized down and in future you wish to have it sized up again, even with a warranty, you will be required to pay if you want the original look of the ring to remain.
Meaning, the ring will be "thinned" out, not brought back to it's original state as Peoples have sold it.
So think twice before sizing down, if you wish to change fingers, or gain weight etc. The original look of the ring will change as the goldsmith will be required to thin it out, eg. Stretches it out. Versus changing it back to it's stock size making it look they way it used to when sold.
This is something that is not stated to the consumer when they are encouraged to buy an extended service plan that states the consumer can size up or down 2 sizes or when they want anything sized. In the past the rings were sized nicely to their original state but this is no longer the case.
