I called AHS about my air conditioner problem, it was not cooling. The technician from Soumadel HVAC, LLC came and ran some tests, and sent in his report to AHS. He reported that the problem with the problem was "detectable" because the unit would not cool! He must have known that AHS would have covered the repair, but he recommended the whole unit had to be replaced and that the problem was "detectable". That way, he could get more money than AHS would have paid, and charge thousands of dollars more to replace an air conditioner that could have been repaired. My advice is to avoid this business.

Tip for consumers:
It would be helpful for others to understand that some businesses will try to take advantage of AHS subscribers by introducing the word "detectable" into the service report they send to AHS so they can recommend repairs that are much more costly to the customer than what they would be able to recover from AHS to cover labor and parts for a legitimate repair. I will be terminating my contract with AHS since they refused to cover the recommended repair costs.

We recently bought a home in Massachusetts. We have bought homes before in various places, and have always bought AHS policies. We ne er had a problem before, but now they refuse to honor their contractual obligations. We tried to turn our air-conditioner on by thermostat control when the outside temperature reached higher temperatures. It failed to operate, so I called AHS to have it fixed. An HVAC Technician came performed tests, and determined that the unit needed to be replaced. AHS refuses to repair or replace the unit because the problem with the unit could be detected by an HVAC technician. Well, of course the problem could be detected using their test equipment! Buyer, beware! AHS is no longer a reputable company. I will terminate my policy with AHS, I will continue to post this review everywhere I can in hopes that AHS will lose market share and their business fails as it richly deserves.

Tip for consumers:
It would have been helpful to know ahead of time that the AHS claim to repair or replace appliances and systems covered in their policies is false advertisement.
