I use to love Google unconditionally. The relationship has now become sour without notice. I used AdWords over 1 year ago and it worked out fine at the time. Due to a serious injury I stopped advertising on Google since I was incapable of working. Around February of 2018 I received an email that Google AdWords was unable to process a payment of $196. I logged into the AdWords account and noticed that a campaign of advertising was started in January of 2018. Since I have not logged into my account for over 1 year, this was quite puzzling. I called AdWords support to investigate. They explained that there is no way that they would automatically start a campaign and just kept repeating that I must make a payment or just leave it the way it is until further notice. I kept asking what does it mean to "leave it until further notice"? The "robot" support specialist kept telling me that this is Google's policy and I either have to pay the balance or just leave it alone. I kept repeating, "what do you mean "leave it alone". After I asked the same question multiple times, they responded differently by saying there was nothing they could do to break Google's policy and that when I'm able to pay that I should log into the account and take care of the balance. I quickly asked, "are you human?". They responded, "I assure you I'm not a robot but my hands are tied because the charges were billed and there is nothing they can do but suggest I make a payment when I'm able to. I followed up by asking if it will go to collections. They answered that they have no information on if it would go to collections. They also repeated that if I cannot pay that I should just leave it there until further notice. The conversation went on for 10 minutes like this until I hung up.
I have a business which provides a service without any tangible physical goods since everything is provided electronically. I understand that this is the way the world is going and that Google has capitalized on it better than anyone else. The difference between what Google does and I do is that if I do not deliver results to my clients then there are no fees to my clients. If Google does not deliver results to us advertisers they still bill fees. There is definitely something wrong with that policy. Companies like Google are like the stock brokers who keep collecting fees regardless of if they increased your return or not. Therefore we are throwing money away on services without guarantees. Every dog has it's day. Google's day of defeat is coming. Look at what is happening to Facebook. Facebook was one of the fastest growing companies to accumulate 100s of billions literally overnight but because of bad policies they were caught with what transpired during the last election. I heard that Mark Z. Has lost billions since the truth has been exposed with their policies. I'm not sad for him. We really need more variety with certain aspects of life. It is completely unfair that companies like Google, Facebook and Apple should control our choices by crushing everyone else and enforcing policies and average products which are really not that significant to our lives. We only use their products and services because they have us convinced that they are essential to every day life.
