I am a new user of WorldRemit. Their FX rates for Kenya schillings are about 103/$, vs Western Union giving only about 94/$. That's 10% more shillings per dollar, a Very Big Deal. MoneyGram closed my account because I was sending too much money! Getting approved on WorldRemit by sending the passport and photo took a day or so. After that, money traveled quickly.

Their so-called verification process is a joke: they have been messing around for 6 days requesting the same documents (passport & ID) several times. While they were wasting my time, I made a transfer to the Philippines with Remitly & the money was received in less than 15 minutes. Just AVOID worldremit and use
Any other similar company. No-one can be worse than worldremit.
After I wrote my review, that has been seen over 4,000 times, I wanted to write again but was prohibited until a three month waiting period. WorldRemit is still the worst money transfer in the world. I have since joined two other money transfer apps and they have made every transfer flawlessly. Unlike WorldRemit, the other have a very professional customer service hotline and it works great. I am now able to send more money overseas than ever before. Don't make the mistake of using WorldRemit. They are not helpful, professional or practical. Beware! Don't use WorldRemit!

On the Fourth of July weekend, in the United States, when all banking and professionals are away on holiday, I received a six day notice that WORLD Remit Was going to shut down my account. I was given a very invasive list of questions to answer, and many of them were quite personal in nature and not professional at all. I responded on the day after the holiday and heard nothing from them again. I tried to call on the number that they provided And was told, "due to high call volume you will have to wait between five and 10 minutes." The phone was never answered and I stayed online for an hour on three different occasions. My phone call was never answered. I had asked for help in order to get the right information to the right place and no help was given. Instead, they cut off a customer who had been using them to support his family for five years. I have since found other means of transferring money to my wife and four children. There are plenty of other agencies out there and you don't have to rely upon WORLD Remit. They are inapt, incapable, and very unprofessional. I am happy that I am no longer with them, and I would never return to them for business. I urge you to consider any other Money sending agency then WORLD Remit. You will end up being very hurt, and in my case, my family was abandoned with no way of sending finances. You have been warned.
Closed my account without notice or cause but still send me marketing spam "we've missed you" etc. I wouldn't use them to send money to a dogcatcher.

I tried to send someone some money and the next thing I knew I was locked out of my account. I spent 40 minutes on hold and then the operator said your account is closed, there is no appeal, we will not give you any information as to why, and what else can I do to "help" you today?

During a phone call with a WorldRemit manager, I was shocked and appalled to hear them explicitly state that they would prioritize following company processes over addressing a genuine emergency situation. Despite my plea for assistance, their response indicated a disturbing disregard for human life and empathy.
As a loyal customer of WorldRemit, I have always appreciated the convenience and efficiency of your services. However, this experience has left me deeply troubled and questioning the values of the company.
I strongly urge WorldRemit to review its customer service protocols and prioritize compassion and flexibility in situations where lives may be at stake. No company should ever prioritize bureaucratic processes over human life and well-being.
I sincerely hope that this incident can be thoroughly investigated and appropriate measures taken to prevent such distressing situations from occurring in the future.

Worldremit used to be honest and reliable. I have used worldremit for years. On three occasions, worldremit will claim the money has been delivered what's in fact it's a lie. In my opinion worldremit is now a fraud 419. I have stopped using that company. John Asaya

Phone World remit couple of time and waited over an hour still no answer. Just wanted to verify why my receiver didn't get the money. Out to their online chat, they disconnected after few minutes. Very bad experience.
Promo codes never work, and customer service stinks. There's an impenetrable firewall between you and the humans at world remit. No chat function, no email contact, and the phone number has a plus "one hour ## seconds" wait before someone answers. Been on hold for 24 minutes and 47 seconds and the wait time is increasing! I'm done with these idiots.

I decided to send money to my wife in Colombia ( for urgent medical reasons)
After 5 days the transaction was never made and worldremit doesn't cancel or refund me my money ( 150 euros) using the same excuses. Stay away!
Very unreliable and poor Customer service. I have two transactions that are still pending for the last couple of months. I have been trying to collect my money back in dollars and it's $3000 or have it transferred to my country's account as initially requested. Their customer service agents are trained to lie to their customers by giving them false hopes. My next best choice is to report them as scammers to the authorities.
I use world remit every month and have never had an issue, until now. I did a transfer on the 29th of September using the same reference i use every month and the transfer hasnt been done, theres no online chat and i have tried calling 3 times to speak to a consultant and the wait times are awful.
This really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
They really need an online chat to deal with customer queries.
World remit please contact me to resolve my payment issue and please activate an online chat help function so that your customers can be helped on time.

If there is a means, I wouldn't even give any star at all. Been skeptical to use this so called worldremit app due to other people's ugly experiences. I have been using a particular app for all my conversions for a long time. I do transaction with my eyes closed; never worried about my money or the time frame to receive the money. Finally I decided to try this app after 3 years because their rate was a bit better. A lesson i learned never to settle for less. I rather pay more to get quality.
After initiating the transaction and verified via my bank, I was debited but the transfer process got stuck and couldn't complete. This process kept loading for several hours until I decided to cancel the transaction.
After cancellation, I had waited for a couple of hours too for the reversal but guess what, only for me to contact these guys and they said refund would take 7 working days. The agent who responded to me by the name Snethemba was even cold with their response, rude and politely arrogant. Didnt care about my worry and just stuck on the respnse they have been asked to give to customers with such issues. Meanwhile this payment was meant for an urgent need.
If you ever worked for your money, dont use this app because they will mess you up. This same experience was shared by another friend who used the app.

I have sent money to my Colombian bank account since December 18. I have talked with the support service by chat many times, and they always give the same reason. "Our local agent has an issue; we are trying to fix it, and we will send you an update in the next 24 hours to your email.". I did not even receive the updated email. They don't give me any real solutions; I only have to wait for them. I need my money ASAP in Colombia. PLEASE DON'T SEND MONEY WITH THEM! I am afraid they stole all my money. They answered here very fast, but again, they didn't contact me and they haven't found a real solution... My money have disappeared until now!
Don't use this company to send money if you need your funds urgently. They don't deliver the money as promised in a timely manner. You sign up for 1 hr money transfer and several days later the app will still say processing. Meanwhile, the money is taken from your account immediately after you confirm the transaction. Try calling customer service and you will wait for hrs to be connected only to be told they are working on it. This company should be shut down, they are an expensive joke!
Well they did ask me to send my passport and I did so. After that I have not heard a word and my money did not move to Thailand. Heidi try to reach them on all channels but this was not possible die Adresse in Switzerland is out of service. I waited for several minutes on the helpline and it said it will take 11 minutes and 40 seconds as a matter of fact after 30 minutes I did cancel the call and really nothing worked.
I am a web developer and with clients across the globe. On the 30th of January 2022, I asked my client to pay me through world remit since the wire transfer from her bank Regions Bank in the US to my Bank GTBank was not working. She asked me if I was sure of the company since she had never done any cross-border transactions outside the United States. I assured her that it was a reliable company. She proceeded and transferred the fund $2000 (screenshot link). After several days the money failed drop. The sent her messages of delay and technical issues (screenshot link:)
They canceled the transaction after about 15 days of waiting and said she would get a refund in 7 days. (See screenshot) its now 1 year and 7 months no refund. After so many calls to support with no response. We reached out to the CEO Ismail and some other staff on LinkedIn they blanked and blocked her. The World Remit Support on Facebook apologized for the delay and said the refund was processed since the 5th of February 2022 that she will be notified via email for further updates ( see screenshot:) and this was the last we heard from them. They stopped picking up calls or responding to support messages.
We going to do a video together exposing this company. It's a scam and if you think you are going to scam me of my hard-earned money. Think again because I am gonna be publishing videos of your scam every week on all social platforms.
I opened an account because they got a high rating from Trustpilot. I got my ID and selfie verified within minutes which was a good thing. However, once I initiated the transfer of funds to my recipient in the Philippines, the status has not changed for several hours. Their website stated that it would only take a few minutes. So if this is an emergency send then use another remittance service. Also, to get in touch with a live agent, good luck with that. Terrible service which makes me wonder how Trustpilot could give this company a 4.5 Star rating out of 5 stars.
Due to WorldRemit's transition to a mobile-only app, our company has decided to discontinue using WorldRemit for payment services. Key concerns include:

The history of service from Worldremit has been fabulous and I could never complain about it, until now.
The recipient has not received the money (260 Canadian Dollars). Up to now, it has been 4 days. WorldRemit system says "Delivered" Transaction # *******. I spoke to their customer service. They said there is an issue at the recipient end. They will fix it. When? The customer service agent asked for the Phone Statement to prove that my family did not receive that money. I sent that statement to them, through the email that they gave me. I called them to check on the development, they are not picking up my phone anymore? Please refund that money. My family needs that money, I want to know where is my money.

Sent money, with a promise of minute delivery, now it´s two days, cash has not been received. Customer service is HORRIBLE, NON EXISTENT. The indication is 5 minute waiting time, turns out to 30min to 60 minute waits, or hang ups! Deliver the cash or refund it! Need to pay for my parents medical bills urgently!

I've used this app for 2 years. I had no problems until the last transaction where they did a security check and suspended my account. I've been emailing and talking to customer support on the phone everyweek. I sent them attachments of everything they wanted to know to authenticate who I was and they denied that as well. Over 2 months of emailing back and forth and my account is permanently closed and I never got a refund. I'd give you one star but my early transactions went through smoothly...
